Welcome to PHASMA...

Hello everyone, my name is Caitlin and welcome to PHASMA, the podcast and blog dedicated to looking at witches. This space and discussion is something that has evolved from my final project as a uni student. I wanted to continue my research and share it with people who, perhaps, had a common interest.

This blog is dedicated to following that research journey I started, evolving from folk horror to witches to discussing their intersections with feminism and pop culture. (As a white woman from England this will be limited to a western viewpoint.)

I chose the name PHASMA fairly early on, the word is Latin and its definition, according to online dictionaries anyway, is 'an appearance of brilliant light; an apparition or phantom.' Which I thought was appropriate, as what is a witch if not one of the most well documented but least known figures in history?
